XNET Enters Next Phase of Growth Under New CEO
Strategic partnerships and fundraising in focus as XNET’s next chapter begins.
XNET Inc. has appointed telecom veteran and Board Member James Childs as CEO, signaling an execution-focused phase of growth. Co-founder Richard DeVaul will serve as Chief Evangelist, continuing to advance XNET’s long-term vision.
Childs brings decades of telecom leadership: launching the first wireless ISP in the Western U.S., scaling Velowave to 25,000+ customers before its sale to Sling Broadband, advancing mmWave networks with Cambridge Broadband, and leading spectrum acquisition, licensing, M&A, and business development as SVP of Corporate Strategy at GeoLinks.
“Each phase of a company’s growth requires the right leadership, and James is the right leader at the right time,” said Richard DeVaul. “With James at the helm, I can focus on vision and XNET evangelism—the decentralized future of mobile communications.”
“XNET is proving that cellular offload isn’t just a tool—it’s an edge,” said James Childs. “We’re going to move fast, scale big, and redefine how the industry thinks about decentralized connectivity infrastructure.”
XNET continues to aggressively build a carrier-grade decentralized network on Passpoint®-enabled Wi-Fi and cellular CBRS, delivering seamless, secure, and cost-efficient connectivity while creating revenue-sharing opportunities for operators.
